Daniel.. get him to check you coolant lines to make sure nothing is cloged in there. If they are that will cause a build up of pressured in the trans which may be a reason for the high fluid mark. That would also explain why all your trannys are going out so fast.
btw.. mine went out sat night so I am going to have to fight with GM about mine. Not looking forward to it today.

it might not bother him too much, but if he ever wanted a loan, sell his business or anything to do with the bank, he will have to settle old scores with you first before any money would change hands. it could take years for that to happen, but that is one gift i wouldn't mind giving this holiday season if i were in your shoes. basically, if he gives no satisfaction, slap one on him and then show him the paper. he might be like so wtf. or he might agree to do what is right and give you your money back.

I can't believe how shitty that shop is. I'm glad you are able to be online to tell everyone NOT TO GO THERE

hope you get it fixed and your money back......if not : money back, tranny fixed, rental car and tow truck $$, and $$ for your missed work.

well no rental car as the warranty does not provide for a rental car. he does pay for towing if towed to the shop. about the only other thing that he is offering is to try and fix the trans again.
i just got off the phone with him and he said that nothing is busted inside but there was some clutch material in the pan and some metal debris in the pan, told him to check the colant lines and also he is going over the valve body to see if the problem is in there.(i could have told him where the problem was but i dont think he wanted to here me tell him again.)

well got it back tonight and it doesnt shift that hard anymore. its a little to soft if you ask me. the culprit was the inner houseing that holds the clutch packs. it shattered at the point where it and the input shaft come together. sheered the teeth right off and created several cracks in the housing. dont know if this was allready damaged was over looked, but it was found this time and corrected. but once again i will drive it untill it breaks. hopefully we have resolved this problem. and will have no others.( im not holding my breath)

Next time ... tell him that you want to see NEW parts IN THE PACKAGE BEFORE he opens them up to put them in your NEW tranny including a NEW seperator plate and a NEW valve body with all new noids, plungers, and pistons and crap. Tell him you want to start scratch. You don't want anything from that tranny in your new one. NOTHING. Make for damn sure he sends the verter to get cleaned and inspected if you can't replace, don't expect him to replace it as well though.

This is rediculous ... I'm running a stock tranny and I turned a 14.35 yesterday at the track. I'm not by any means the fastest one on a stock tranny either.

Did he replace the clutches that the material came off of? Did he replace them with good kevlar clutches and new kolene steels? If not ... expect to be back in there.

Another thing ... hard shifts are not good for your tranny. You don't want them to bark the tires everytime you shift. A chirp at the top of 1-2 is OK, but not optimal. You should have it set so that it makes the quickest not necessarily hardest shift possible withOUT breaking the tires loose. That's what broke parts.

Tell him if a new seperator plate is required to get the shifts softened up, then get one. I cannot stress how bad brutle shifts are. THEY WILL BREAK **** APART!!! The 4L60e just can't stand up to a bruttle shift like a th400 or th350 can.
