Default WTB Remote Start

Wasn't sure to put this here or under Misc.

I was wondering if anyone had a remote start system they want to get rid of. Or if someone knows a reliable system that don't cost a lot throw some names my way. Are the real cheap ones worth buying?

I leave my house at 1am and it helps A LOT if the windows are thawed before i have to go because i cant scrape the ice off and everyone is usually in bed at that time.

Thanks

I have an Autopage that I got from Ebay pretty cheap and it works great.
This looks like the one I have. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Remote-Car-S...QQcmdZViewItem

I also have an extra GM-SL control module that you will need for the install. You can have it for a few bucks to cover shipping if you want.

I would stay away from anything that says Bulldog I had one of those in the past and it sucked

Well it's not near as easy as they used to be. Still not really all that hard, just took me forever to get it all hooked up and working correctly. I did solder every connection though which takes longer than using crimp or splice connectors. I think it takes an expert installer 3-4 hours to install one and they know where all the wire are. They also charge a fortune to do it. That's where most of the cost of a system really goes if you were to buy one from a place that installs them.

I installed one in my truck and my wifes car a little over a year ago and they both still work great. I can start my truck from my office, 6 floors up parked across the street... If you need any help with it just let me know, I also have wiring diagrams with pictures.

Here is the wiring info.
http://www.mediamax.com/truckmann/Ho...03%20wires.pdf

I think you have to do a right click and save target (or save link as for Firefox) to get it. It's just a pdf but it was a little to large at 180kb to post directly.
