Do not know about every Superchips Program but mine is Vin number specific.

 

mine is the 'MAX' version that superchips says is good for all vins on all 4.8 5.3 6.0 engines in the 99' 00' model year Silverado/Sierra GM line. I was never asked for my vin and it worked just fine for me. If I had not sold the truck, I would still be using it.

 

I'm interested! How did the Micortuner work for you? I currently have a HPP but I don't use the tuning because I also have a GMS maf. My truck is actually quicker with the GMS maf and no HPP tuning (just shift points, etc) than it is with the tuning and either the stock or GMS maf. I was wonderng if the Microtuner would be a better choice and I could just could go back to the stock maf. It kind of bugs me that I don't use the tuning, I could sell the HPP and the GMS and just go with the Microtuner.

I've never used the hypertech, so I can't really compare the two. What I can say is that superchips claims that they tune for all throttle positions and the say hypertech only tunes for wide open throttle. When I had the microtuner program installed, even just daily driving was improved. There was more power and the shifting was greatly improved as well. When I really got on it there was nothing but smiles. Again I can't compare to the HPPIII, but I can say I was very happy with the superchips.
