what im saying is i've never heard of a 8.5HD axle. not unless they're referring to the 1500HD axle..but its not a 8.5/8.6

here is what he said in the email..... "You will need a GM 8.5 HD carrier with large bearing journals".

You do have an open diff in your truck right? And i assume this replaces the old spider gears like the other lockers like this, so you had the old ones out when you tried to fit it in correct?

Sorry about the stupid questions, sometimes the easiest things are overlooked.

yep. Yanked the spiders out........You can search powertrax website and it shows up for the 8.5. Sometimes you see stuff that says 8.5/8.6 so I assumed that this for the 8.5 would fit. Any how I guess when I get home tomorrow I will throw it on ebay.

You could try putting it on fullsizechevy. I think there are quite a few more OBS trucks over there than there is on here.
