Yes its aluminum, no its not blown up I dont have a converter they (dirt late models) run direct drive plates instead of a converter(you can still run a converter in this trans) . I pulled the pan to check it out and after 2 races the magnet and fluid looked like it was just built. The trans has steel hub kevlar band and clutches 1.82 first gear and a manual valve body
