So its not worth the upgrade to get 30 more horsepower.
Its not just the upgrade people want, its the possibilities. NO substitute for CUBES!! The trans is another item people want/need as it will handle just about anything someone can throw at it.

30hp is just plain silly, these things are probably in the 350-400range, not 300.

that motor is too wierd, i would avoid it. get something that runs, i got a 50k 6.0 for 1100 with a 3 month gaurente at a local junk yard and it came with alot of extra stuff that i sold off.

Its more than 30 hp.....I am pretty sure GM under rated those motors. I felt a real big gain from my 5.3 to the 6.0. And you have to remember that its not the HP you want, its the TQ! that is what gets these trucks movin!

without horsepower there is no torque...so you want a complimenting amount of each

Other way around Matt.

Without torque there is no horsepower. You need torque and rpm to get horsepower.

Horsepower is a measurement of torque.

The wieght the guy shows sounds about right at 800#'s. Can't be to much missing inside if it's that much. I know that 6.0 longblock I had was right at 400lbs. I have it all broken down at home with what wieghs what.
