I thought egr is no longer on 02 and up? Is it still on the 6.0l?

Good link though.

Interesting. The 03s have the electronic throttle body setup and no EGR. This one has the cable throttle and EGR, but has a GM sticker saying 2003. I wonder if its a service replacement motor.

Also, look at the coil packs and plug wires. I haven't seen a factory GM installed motor with those coils, wires, and mounts. Anyone else?

2 out of the 3 truck motors i have sitting here came with the round coils but not those wires.

after looking again i am going to say those coil brackets are diferent then the ones i had. maybe from a car, hmm.

i would probably pass on this one, too many questions and it has never been ran, with the odd stuff on the out side you have to wonder if it was pieced together on the inside.

Yes my Dad has those coils and brackets on his 2000 5.3. There are two different coil types. Round or the more common square ones. The wires, well I have never seen them before.

Heres a quote from my cousin who works at GMC "but they have a knocking problem that GM will not recognize"

So its not worth the upgrade to get 30 more horsepower.
