Default FS: Brand New Comp 918's

I have a brand new set of 918's still in the box. I am running Z06 springs with my TR220 right now. I picked these up because I thought I might go a little bigger, but I have decided to hang on to what I have for now. $175 shipped....Thanks!

Travis

how long have you been running the z06 springs with your tr220. What are the specs on it, and what pushrods are you using. I was looking at stepping up to the tr220 but wasnt sure if the z06 springs and pushrods would be enough for that cam. Do you like that cam for power usage.*sorry to ***** your thread*

i believe the thunder racing cam is a low lift .551. The z06 springs can be run, but alot of ppl say the 918's are better off for added insurance. But it still is a lowlift, same as the z06 cam.

From everyone I talked to I was told I could run the TR 220/220/112 .551 .551 with the stock pushrods and Z06 springs. The only thing that was not recommended was to set the shift points over 6k. I set my rev limiter at 6k and shift between 5800-6000. I guess I have about 6k on the set up. I did the swap last December.

The truck is my DD. I would recommend it to anyone. Were you planning on running a stall behind it?

the TR220 pulls all the way up to 6500 rpms, if your gonna go thru the trouble to put that cam in, then might as well do the springs that can handle going over 6k rpms. so you can get full power for the time and money you put into the valve train...why put a cam in and only use some of its power? IMO

D reks(5.3) does have a good point, but i dont know if i would use much power or ever ring it past 6000 unless i am at the track, and at that point my ever so weak 4l60 will explode. And yes i amd running a 2600 PI stall. So hopefully it would be good enough to stay in the power im looking for.

my advice to cory would be that if you don't plan on turning that high, you're better off getting a smaller cam
