FS: AFR 230 (1630), ECS Big blower cam + other valvetrain
#1
Well I've come to the conclusion that I need to have more cylinder head and step up to a 6-bolt setup from my initial results. See thread here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...85-1141hp.html I'm only at 63k blower RPM and need to get it up to around 74-75k RPM in the sweet spot for the YSi.
I bought the H/C setup from a Corvette forum member, see car here (402/Novi 2500 car):
I had to have some work done to the heads prior to putting them on my engine. Nothing out of the ordinary after being run on an engine for a few years.
Work done is as follows:
Glass bead
Vacuum test
CC chamber (71cc)
Competition valve job
Resurface heads
Set spring height
Set stem height
Install helicoils (needed on 6 of the rocker stands due to red-loctite with previous rockers)
Wash/assemble
*One other foot note is they have been drilled for 1/2" head studs so there are some shims you need to run on standard studs/bolts. This was already done when I bought them and is no big deal.
New PAC 1236x springs
New PAC racing steel valve locks
New Valve stem seals
While these heads are an older version of the 230's (not V2 version) they work and work well as you'll see below in both NA and boosted form.

ECS Big blower cam - mid 230's/Upper 230's on duration and low 600's on lift with a 115 CL. See here: ECS Bigger Blower Camshaft
In N/A form with a blower cam (not optimal), 10:1 CR, Hi-Ram it made the following results:
93 octane

E85

Blower results:

AFR 230 assembled heads only - $old
BTR upgraded trunion rockers - $old
LPE (Lingenfelter) billet rocker stands - $old (good luck finding these anymore)
ECS Blower cam - Pending
That being said, the engine is still at the builder and this stuff will not come off/out right away but will be promptly removed once I have verified availability of the new cylinder heads. Or if this add goes more than a couple weeks it shouldn't be a problem then as the new heads should be available.
