AFR-225 PN 1630 Tony Mamo Ported Heads, Morel Lifters PN 4708
#1
AFR-225 CNC and Tony Mamo Ported Heads for the LSx engine family.
AFR CNC-Ported P/N 1630 with the following upgrades:
- Additional hand-porting ($750) performed personally by Tony Mamo with his meticulous attention to detail.
- Upgraded lightweight REV 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves ($400) for better harmonics & valvetrain stability across the full RPM range, including Tony's valvejob and backcutting. Valves save over 35g in valvetrain mass versus the standard 2.08/1.60 AFR valves.
- AFR-8019 upgraded dual valvesprings ($100), good for up to 0.650"+ lifts.
- Precisely milled, finished, and assembled by Tony Mamo.
- Chamber volumes are spot-on at 69.5 cc's, intake-runner volume is ~227cc's.
Heads currently still are "record-holders" from Tony Mamo's flow bench, flow #s are posted below. Barely used, less than 800 break-in miles, and these heads are ready for you to bolt-on. Will work great on all LSx engines (including LS1 & LS6s with the 3.9" bores), and especially shine with the bigger 4.00"+ bores.
These are not a 'run of the mill' head for just anyone - they are specifically for someone wanting to squeak out as much HP from a killer set of heads as possible, with absolutely no sacrifice in quality or workmanship. The standard CNC'ed AFR heads are great....these have been taken to the next level.
The heads are in stellar condition - again, less than 800 actual miles on these heads - they have absolutely no damage whatsoever. I have well over $3400 invested. Will sacrifice at $2450 shipped -- Ready to ship NOW. Heads will be shipped in their ORIGINAL AFR box (packed extremely well) and will be properly insured against any shipment damage.
----
Quoted flow #s for the AFR-225 heads on a 4.06 bore; the below exerpt is a direct quotation from Tony Mamo:
Intake
.200....166
.300....234 (new recorded high I think)
.400....282 (tied with or a record)
.500....320 (another record I believe)
.550....327
.600....330
Just a killer piece from the crack of the valve to any lift we care about
Exhaust (more records)
.200....139 (definitely a record!)
.300....200 (another record...you guessed it)
.400....229 (tied perhaps?....LOL)
.500....243
.600....252
Sick piece....

Morel high performance hydraulic roller lifters, non link-bar so they work with the factory plastic lifter-trays, P/N 4708.
Made 100% in the USA, Morels are known to be the top of the line hydraulic lifters with much more stability at high-rpms & better reliability than stock or the competition.
The non link-bar style is much better to have IMHO since it still enables you to make camshaft swaps WITHOUT having to remove the heads. The link-bar style that eliminates the lifter-trays would require the heads to be removed, making cam swaps much more time, $$ and labor intensive. So if you're like me where you may swap cams every now and then....the non link-bar Morels are your best option to still have the Morel quality and performance.
Barely used, less than 800 easy break-in miles, and are ready for usage. These are in mint, like-new condition with absolutely NOTHING wrong with them. Paid $600 incl shipping. Yours for $400 shipped. Ready to ship NOW. Decided to de-mod and sell the vehicle over the winter, and just a few remaining performance-items leftover to sell (like these Morels).
$400 shipped.

You aren't going to find a Head in the 220-230cc range that can touch these, These not Only Make Insane Power But They make Insane Power at all RPM's not just Peak Just Look those are Insane Midlift Numbers for a Cathedral Port of only 227cc!
This is the head I would use if I could afford them!
