99+ Truck mirrors and handles on Ebay

I posted on another board about the same thing. He said that they will fit but on of the bolt holes do not line up and you have to modify the tabs on the back handle a little to get it to fit and you only have 2 nuts holding it on vs 3. I compared the two sets front and rear and he was right. So instead of modifying the rear handles I used the front. This is from memory so I'm not 100% positive about what you have to do but I do know that it has been done.

Hey dude that was me that put the back door handles on. All you have to do is swap out the piece that connects to the door opening rod. It is held in by a plastic pin. Also only 2 of the bolts go thru the holes, but the 3rd one still secures the handle down because it kind of fits into a spot where there is metal on 2 sides of it, so it is just a secure as if all 3 bolts went thru holes. Sorry if this makes no sense, you will understand when you have it apart. Oh yeah be sure to zip tie the rod that connected to the door lock out of the way, so the window won't hit it when you roll it down. This was for the passenger side, I assume the driver side is the same. I used the front handle on the driver side in case my remote ever breaks.

I finally finished some of the projects on my truck and have some left over mirrors and some door handles that I put up on ebay. I'm also going to be putting up some baseball cards if interested. Here is the link http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...serid=icetraxx

Crashdude thanks for the info on the handles again. I chickened out and went with the stock handles. I had gotten a set of denali handles with the chrome pull piece so I pulled them apart and put the chrome handle in the painted base. I couldn't ever find a good painter to paint the original ones. If any one knows one let me know b/c I have the tahoe heated and lighted mirrors that I would like to get painted solid white.
Lotsofn I saw your link for futral motorsports. I live about 3 miles from them. I've been thinking about dropping by and see what they are all about since they are so close but I have our first kid coming in a month and this is peak competition season for my wifes dnace school. So time has been really short lately.

Hey Artic how did you put the grab handle part back on? I drilled out the rivet and took the chrome piece out, then got the handles painted red, then I couldn't get the rivet back in, so I used a fat zip tie, but the chrome piece feels kind of loose. I wonder what is the best thing to use to put it back together? Oh yeah I just took mine to a local body shop and they painted them. I got both handles, both tailgate pieces, and both mirror covers all for 50 dollars. The guy was nice enough to let me do all the sanding (which took forever) and watch him paint so I got a good deal. Also it has been several months and no problems at all except a scratch on the mirror what my mom hit a mail box <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

It took me about 15 minutes with a pair of dikes(pliers) slowly working/pulling it out after I mashed one of the ends so that I could pull it through. I reused the revet by tapping it back through. It was a pain but it works just like new.
