Default 5.3 cammed for 6.0

Ill probably wont see no interest in this, but I would like to trade motors straight up with someone if interested. looking for a 6.0L, not familiar with lq4 or lq9 differences, heard lq9 has higher compression ratio i believe. 5.3 has been rebuilt when i bought it, it did have 60k miles, but it was torn down and totally rebuilt with new gaskets and cleaned out. Still in my truck as we speak, and its my daily, so it would be a weekend project most likely. But its an iron block 5.3L with ls6 204/218 cam with 11k miles on it now. runs strong and hard, no problems at all. If it doesnt pan out, ill wait until this one goes before i get a 6L

well keniff knows the situation lol, no nitrous for me, never. I really want to get a tr224 or tsp224 with new springs and pushrods and a 3200 stall. guess i may save when i find a job for that, looking to see if there was a spark of interest.

Honestly the 5.3 is a stout engine, will make good numbers if done right... If I had a 5.3 instead of my 4.8 I would have never did my swap. 5.3+good mods= great numbers IMO..

What do you want to do with the truck? Pick one thing, dont say good mileage, good daily driver, fast *** race truck.

Plenty of guys on here have slow as **** 6.0 ext. cabs, but guys with 5.3 ext cabs who are plenty faster.

Well truck is my daily, so there you go. but I want it to be a fast daily, how is that. Its pretty stoute now, but i hit up truckshop performance, id like to get my tune looked at and adjusted, and eventually add a tr224 cam and 3200 stall as stated and a true trac. I currently dont have a job, so I guess i need to make a thread about how to beef up my 5.3, without running turbo or superchargers and nitrous. and on stock heads and intake, i cant see myself spending tons of money right now anyways.

Pat G Spec'd cam imho. run a 3200 converter with 3:73s bc it's your DD/track truck.
i love my CC, it's got a descent sized cam, 3200 converter, 4:10s and i still get 15.9 in city and 18.5 highway (75mph) i can get 20 if i run 65ish but that's slow.

honestly id run a 220/224 .581.581 113+2 or +4 a 3200 converter, vette servos, if the budget allowed id upgrade heads/intake and if that happened you could run a higher lift cam (.595 to .600)

You just limited yourself to what you can do in your last post. I wanna do X but not change Y or Z or..... All it'll ever be is a cammed 5.3 with that approach. Dont limit yourself sayin I just want to run xxx/xxx size cam. You can have a cam cut that is fairly large (duration and lift wise) and still drives like a somewhat smaller camshaft. Most of it is in the tuning but you can tame it down with lobe choice ICL LSA etc. Same thing goes the other way, you can make a small cam sound and act like a larger one.

If all you are wanting to do is a cam and converter go with a high 220s cam and 3600-3800 stall speed. If you have a good tuner, you'll be suprised how streetable that setup can be.

Oh, and ditch the 3.73 IMO. Go with no less than a 4.10, preferrably a 4.30 since you already have 3.73s. It'll be much more fun to drive and you might lose one MPG or so on the hwy, and probably gain it back around town. Well worth it.
