i paid $2000 for an 01 motor, tranny, transfer case, all the extra stuff like intake, injectors, starter.......unknown miles
i paid $1100 for an 02 motor with all the stuff bolted on it still and about 50k miles.
since that one has none of the extras but is newer and lower miles i would think it would be about the same price as i paid, $1100 or so.

I bought this one a couple weeks ago. Brand new GM crate motor with 12/12 warranty $1700. I went to the place and picked it up in person-nice place and nice people. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Just a word of warning - that place ARIEL PERFORMANCE is the shop that sold Texas Terminator a 6L motor saying it would bolt right in. He went to install it, and it had the 99-00 long crank and wouldn't fit in his truck. I took a look at the motor and it had a set of 1998 LS1 perimeter bolt heads bolted to it. Apparently Ariel had removed the iron heads and strapped on the LS1s to make it look like a newer model. When called on it, Ariel wouldn't do anything to help him out since they already had full payment.
Now, prior to TexTerm buying that motor, Ariel had it on ebay, which I had seen listed. I emailed Ariel and informed them about the crank length issue. He said he would swap cranks if needed. So he knew about the issue prior to selling it.
They may sell new stuff now, but they won't get my business since I've seen how they handled that situation.

Bigtex-I remember those posts. I just did not make the connection. If I had, I might not have driven all the way to OK. I kinda had a feeling that they might have assembled this motor I bought-since the sell all the individual parts to do so. They took me on a tour through the whole facility-big place-and they do have an engine building area. I am satisfied with what I got for the price, but like you said, its all about the principal of the thing.
