You know if you have the longer crank by wether the heads are aluminum or iron like said in the post above. If you have iron heads, you have the longer crank.

You are correct but depending on who they bought it from they may have changed parts.There was one guy selling 99-2k long cranks longblocks and installing alloy heads.I think a couple guys found out the hard way here.Ls1 and 2K1 6.0s,the rearend of the crank is near flush with the rear main seal,the early 6.0s extented about 1/2 inch past the rear main.These are approxamations so you better look for yourself.

anyone have a pic of a normal crank?? I believe mine does stick out about a half an inch or so? What about milling the torque convertor wouldn't this solve my problems?

Sounds like you have a early 6.0 when in the **** are you going to answer if you have alloy heads or not.If a magnet sticks to the heads then you have cast iron,if not then they are aluminum.

Heads aren't aluminum.
