01' Silverado HD & 99-06 Sierra hood
#1
For Sale: 01' Silverado HD hood, original GM hood. Has factory red paint in excellent condition. I planned on putting the hood on my 04' Sierra. If installed on a Chevy, it'll bolt right up. To install on a 99-06 Sierra, there's some cutting & body work involved to fit the headlights. I also have a 99-06 Sierra hood that was a "donor hood" for the modification. The Sierra hood is black, and has some faded paint. Neither hood is rusted. I'm asking $325 for the Silverado HD hood. $80 for the stock GM Sierra hood. $375 takes both hoods. I'm near Baton Rouge. I'm not willing to ship or drive very far.

I took some pictures of both hoods. Please bare with me. The HD hood is hanging in my shed so it wouldn't get dented. I've got a bad shoulder, so I couldn't take it down. I did the best I could on the pictures without taking the hood down. Considering the hood is off a 14yr old truck, it's in really good shape. A lot of the hoods on that body style were bad about fading.
As seen on the GMC Sierra hood, there's some pretty significant fading. It's not bare primer, and there's no rust. There's one ding on the Sierra hood that could easily be worked with some icing(so small it probably doesn't need body filler). As originally mentioned, I planned on using this as a donor hood for modifying the Chevy HD hood for my Sierra. I'd be repainting to match my truck, so the fading wasn't a concern.
As seen on the Chevy HD hood, there's some fading along the edges. It's definitely A LOT LESS fading than most HDs I see on the road, so I consider the hood above average condition for it's age. There's also about a half dozen chips in the paint. There's no rust, but the chips haven't been covered with touch-up paint. The HD hood does have a very small ding. Honestly, I think a heavy coat of primer would fill it (maybe some icing at worst case).
