Default Z71 Tahoe...service 4wheel, sercurity and lights dimming

Well...I'm going to try to make this short.......

Its an 01 Z71 tahoe, 64k miles. Its been going on about 2 months. Started with the sercurity light flashing every so often. Then i noticed the lights at night when i was rolling up the windows would dim quite abit. I can hold down the window switches until they are all the way down then keep holding them and dash lights and the instrument gauges will go to 0...like the fuel gauge Empty, 0 oil pressure...with the engine running. Let go of the switches and then the lights and gauges will go back to normal.

Now and Service 4wheel drive is on all the time. It will flash back and forth between 4wheel and sercurity and entire time. Of course the 4wheel drive isn't working...

Well tonight I get in to start it up....nothing. Turns out the + battery terminal was broken in the battery....so now theres a new battery in there and STILL the same problems as before.

Any ideas?? TIA

Alan

NOt sure if it's related, but I've seen problems with the push button 4x4 switches creating issues....the part's about $40 from the dealer...

Yea, you're right...the switch wouldn't cause the other problems you mentioned. I'd probably check the integrity of the charging system first (alternator output, wiring, etc.). I've also heard of some folks having problems with the instrument cluster...but I think it was mostly on 03's.
