Wouldnt a 6.0 be cheaper and more reliable when all is said and done??? Just trying to get things straight.

Well that depends on how much you bore it. The 6.0 has a 4" bore, LS1/6 3.90".

Heads will be dependant on the block you choose.

I'd use ARP: main bolts, rod bolts, head studs.

The 6.0 LQ4 is the cheapest route for a junkyard pullout for the blower. Bigger bore, big chamber LS6 heads, etc.

So how does a 6.0 pullout with the ARP hardware sound?? Id keep everything else stock and add the vortech and go with 10#. What would be involved in getting a 4L80 to bolt up or should I just go with the FLP 4L60. I would think that the 4L80 would bolt up easily and be cheaper since the HD trucks come with the 6.0 and 4L80. Sound about right??

If you're gonna break it that far down, I'd get some forged lower comp pistons... like 8.5-9.0:1, TSS rings, and hone it. New top shelf bearings. New oil pump. New gaskets. Double roller timing chain.

Hell I'd do a mild cam now too since it's out.

Stock crank can hold well over 600rwhp. Stock rods are like a forged I-beam for the most part...they are powdered metal. I'd do pistons for long term durability.

Boost doesn't like compression. How much boost can that blower push on a low comp motor?

The 4L80E is a longer and wider tranny, it fits pretty easily with a custom x-member, wiring plug, and a tune. That's about all you need with it. A stock 3/4 ton trannies are usually good well over 500rwhp before taking a ****. As Whitt1 he's got one in his Tahoe. You'll need the 4L80E flexplate and crank spacer too.

I'm pretty confident the limits of a 4L60E are 450-550rwhp in a truck. Much more is on borrowed time. If you plan much more than that, a 4L80E may be smart to go to when you 4L60E takes a crap.

I'd say it depends on the trim of the blower, and how your pulleys are setup. Cause i think even some of the smallest Prochargers (w/ the IC, and yes i know he's talkin about Vortech, but they're fairly similar) can push like 28psi.

But Hit Man's hit it right on the head drop the compression down a bit, forged pistons, better heads, ARP hardware all the other accessories, and be done with it.
