Default Yank TT3000 opinions

It is one loose 'verter. I like it though.

The install was a pain in the rear to get the tranny down and back up. I edned up putting about 5 1/2 quarts of ATF back in though, that should be a good reference for anyone else doing the install.

I havn't gotten on it much yet, but I know it will spin 1st hard. I still have the stock tires on and I know that is killing me, but it will spin all the way through first pretty good, even on a good street. It is considerably looser than the TT2600 I had on the black truck too. I will let ya'll know some more about it tomorrow.

Be sure to put the 150 break in miles on it before you beat on it to hard. Mine felt real loose when I first installed it,but the more i drove it the better it felt.

You're going to really like it,Ranwalk is right about the break-in miles.Yank claims it's needed to bed the lockup clutch, but it also gives your PCM a chance to learn the converter too.

Ooops ... they should include something in it to tell you about the break-in for it. Last night it was super loose, but I also figured it was about 3 quarts low in ATF. I added fluid and it wasn't as loose, more controllable I guess you could say.

Oh wel, I guess I haven't been to hard on it. I've only hit it hard a couple of times. I know it will spin all the way through 1st now with no probs. I'm gonna have some major traction problems ahead of me!

I hammered on it right out of the shop I agree that they should put some sort of documentation in the box about break in. I was actually suprized how 'stock' it felt.....I guess I was expecting it to be very loose. Congrats on the new stall.

Mine is still pretty loose. I went and had some new tires and wheels put on the truck today. It's still having traction probs to say the least. ALLLL the way through 1st. BTW .. I put GoddYear Eagle GT II on a 17" rim. They are about a 1/4 of an inch, if that much, taller than the stock tire, but considerably wider, almost twice as wide. It will still light them up pretty good.

I still think the verter is pretty loose. It is taking mae longer to get used to it than it did with my 2600 in the black truck. I do like the verter but I think it's almost a tad much.

The truck feels like it noise dives after the shift, I'm guessing that's TQM at it's worst right there. I can definantly feel the TQM in the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift now at part throttle. At WOT it isn't to bad. I like how this thing will hold ~3.5k rpm and the speed increases fairly quickly for part throttle.

I think the 2600 should come on the truck to start with, and the 3000 should be an aftermarket converter.

The stock verter is kinda loose given it is a small stall. Notice how it seems to slip off the line until it hits about 1200 rpm? Well, this one lets the engine rev up to about 2000 before it starts to get going, and once it hits about 2700 it feels like it slams and tries to launch the truck.

It's kinda hard to explain, but maybe that helped.
