I'm not sure about programming it to lockup...but I would think it is possible. I haven't heard much about anything like that. But everything is computerized anyways. I just wouldn't want it to always lockup in 3rd. I would prefer to have a manual switch....that way my daily driving will remain the same, then when at the track I can use it to squeeze out a little more from my runs.

wait... so these converters dont lock up automatically (stock ones too)??? because in ls1 edit there is an option to lock up the converter at whenever you want, so if that will help any i will just add it into my file for track programming

The converter lock up when the trans goes into Overdrive....under hard acceleration the converter will not lock up in 3rd gear....the reason for that option on ls1edit and for a manual lockup. You have to have a lockup converter to drive on the street. Otherwise you will end up burning up the coinverter and the trans if not careful. All you are doing is making it lockup sooner to help you get the extra mph. You will have to play around with it and find out what the best rpm is to have the converter lockup on the trucks....unless someone already knows.

let us know how it works if you use the LS1edit to do yours.

I've got a Yank Truck Thruster 3000 in my '01 Tahoe. I dropped my ETs 6 tenths. Totally driveable. Don't waste your time on the wimpy 2600. Get the "manly" 3000.

Did Patrick G just call a Yank converte "whimpy?" J/K

The truck don't seem to have any issues with a 3000+ stall.
