Default Yank is in

Got my Yank TT3000 put in today - truck feels noticeably quicker, will finally spin the tires (heavy 20s) from idle (not alot but it will do it) and it stays in the power band when it shifts. I'm not sure about .5 sec ET reduction, but I guess its possible.

Even thought it would probably be to late anyway - is there a break in period for these converters?

And after the install - the temperature guage no longer works. It moves a little at startup - and even read the correct temp for few seconds, but now is no longer working - is there some sensor down there that could have gotten loose or got oil on it or not properly plugged back in by the trans shop?
Thanks for any help

I don't even know if mine has shipped yet. They were supposed to send me a tracking number Thursday but they blew me off. Customer service blows but I hope the product delivers. I think you are supposed to go thru 50 lockups or something like that for break in. Which temperature stopped working? Trans or engine coolant?

Who did you order it from? I ordered it from Tybrne and they said it takes a week to ship out b/c they are made to order from Yank. Did I hurt my converter if I did no go through 50 lockups before I got on it? The engine coolant guage is not working.

Well you prolly shortened its life a lot but eh...I doubt you're gonna keep the truck long enough to give a flying fu*k.

Do you have any tuning at all? I bet that's why the gains seem minimal to you...

Did you put that verter on a stock tranny? I have one sitting in my computer room waiting on a beefed tranny, that's when the blower will go back on too.

I went to the track tonite as a spectator and it made me REAL antsy.

yes you are suppost to break it in for like 150 miles or something.(no wide open throttle) yank tells you in the instructions dont remember though. As of now i dont remember were the engine coolant guage is at so i can not help you it could just be a bad sender or something easy.

Yeah its on a stock tranny with the factory cooler - and its not like I made multipe WOT runs on it right off the bat, but I did get on it a bit to see how much of a difference it made.

Drive it how your going to drive it. That way it gets your ware pattern. Most things with a break in period last 100k no matter how its broke in.

I've had my yank converter for almost 2 years and it is way better than the B&M that i had in there.
