Default Are y-pipes supposed to come in pieces?

I'm away from my truck, but my brother just received my Pacesetter ORY and installed it. He said it came in 3 pieces and needed 3 clamps to install it. (One for each header to y-pipe, and one to connect the two pieces of the y-pipe to the merge that bolts to my existing stock exhaust) Every picture I've seen has the ORY as a single piece. Do they come in 3 pieces now?

My pacesetter came in 3 pieces as well, everyone that's bought them as far as I know have came in 3 pieces as well. I installed ball flange collectors on mine @ the headers and welded everything else up, got rid of the clamps ASAP.

Yea it's supposed to come in pieces so it's easier to work around tranny crossmember or attaching it to the headers, also so you can do little adjustments here or there so it will fit just right. If its off even by a little bit the whole piece could be worthless so they make them so if you need to you can adjust it to fit your truck just right.

I had several leaks because of the clamps so just had it welded up. Sounds better without leaks too.

I'm going to weld it all together when I get back home. Except from the header collectors to the y-pipe, so I can still remove it if need be.
