ok, half of the y pipe wore away due to improper torquing off the clamps.. now i have a leak at the clamped area of y pipe.i tried to re clamp up on the y pipe but it came loose so im figuring there not enough y pipe left to clam on

im thinking i can get a band clamp to join both Y pipe and tail pipe what do you guys think??

How thin is the metal of your Y pipe? You may be better off to start with a new Y? Those Pacesetter Y's aren't very much money.

A good muffler shop should be able to weld in a new piece for a reasonable price.

Looks like a band clamp and someone decided to throw some exhaust wrap on for extra sealing.

Looks like it just rotted... you're gonna need a new section of piping.
