NASCAR has, the all run x-pipes as close to the headers as possible.

I think that the exhaust dynamics depend on the setup of the engine. My guess would lean more towards an X pipe picking up more power.... Im in to see if anyone has done a back to back test.

I was told by a few guys the X pipe helps savaging and is better for HP, the H pipe just even out the pressure

lol ive ran a X and Y pipe and found neither to make a difference except for sound if there was any horsepower gained from it its vary vary mininumal, enlarging the diameter of the pipe and going true duals made a nice difference

I do agree it does not make a huge difference in HP but the x pipe does sound nicer IMO

a good ypipe (2 3" into a 4") is supposed to be as good as an xpipe.

I'm running an x-pipe now installed it with headers but the guy put it just before the muffler quess it was easier that way. I was thinking the same as Gordy said it should of been as close to the front as possible Planning on moving it forward more or put the Y-pipe that came with the kit back on. Now that I got a lq4 to swap think I'm gonna stay with dual 2.5s Can only get 3" pipe in my area
