Should I reuse my sending unit & bucket or get a new one to modify?

 

I would use your old bucket, a 255 fits in there without much moding to it.. I am selling a inline pump(255) in the classys for 66 shipped, slap it on the frame and tie into your fuel line and good to go..

 

IIRC, you did the Bosch swap, correct? I do have an inline that came with my ProCharger kit.

Basically it has been 10 years, 92,000 miles later, and my fuel pump is beginning to fail. Earlier last week I filled up my tank and when I started it, noticed that fuel pressure was lower than normal. My fuel pressure gauge normally reads 54 - 57 psi at idle. This time it was 48! I drove a few miles and the pressure would gradually climb back to 54. It gets parked overnight and the next day it starts with 55psi at idle. After a few miles driving it fluctuates down to 52 & hangs around 54. At a few stop lights it would drop to 47/48 but again climb up to 52.

Since the inevitable is coming, I would like to get some opinions for a replacement fuel pump.

 

Yes I did the big bosch intank.. I think that the 255 intank would work well for you, like I said it isn't to much to mod to get one of them in the tank.. As for the ones you linked, I am not sure if they will work, it would depend on that plug that is supplied with it.. Sombody will chime in here. Call them up, the second one you listed looks like it should be the right one, but not 100%

 

According to their specs listed, they have the same install pack. It appears the pumps are the same. The only difference between the two part numbers is the 834 prefix.

The description says it replaces the 340 pump which is the universal pump that others have used, iirc. I've sent them a message for additional info about the pump specs & power cord adapter.

 

Racetronix kit is plug and play...I put one in my SS and it was pretty simple.

This is the Fbody version...I would think the truck version would be similar. I paid $225 for mine that included the wiring harness and the pump seen below.

 

I got one of those on my 2000 4.8 singlecab and it works awesome.I had a faulty original fuel pump that was whining alot because it was almost going to give out,luckily someone told me about these pumps and he ordered it and installed it for $220

 

will the racetronix pump enough to handle a 200 shot? i need to upgrade my pump, but i DONT want to cut my bucket. what are my options?
