Default Would you buy a motor without seeing it?

I'm curious as I call around looking for a motor how accurate the descriptions are from the people that work at the various junk yards. Typically, I am seeing the LQ9 motor priced around 2300 and up, sometimes damage is listed, sometimes it's not. I called a place this morning who had it listed for 1200, guy says it's "perfect" (and I quote....), complete motor (no accessories), ran great when taken out, vin N. Deal seems too good to be true....but he's in MN and I am in AZ, so there is no way I can see it. Would you trust what they tell you?

No. I've had enough bad luck anyway. I'm never buying anything used again unless I can look at it...my $.02

I believe ebay holds people liable through contract that if there is damage to the item and it is not disclosed to the buyer you have the right to a refund or some compensation.

Well, it's not ebay, it's car-part.com. I just called the guy back and he agreed to take some pics and email them to me, That won't tell me anything about internals, but at least I'll see what kind of condition the outside is in.

make him write something out saying that the motor is perfect or you get your money back.

Call that guy back and ask him if it was running upon removal. If he even knows the status of the truck it came out of.
