Default will these fans work

been wondering about fans from 3rd gen camaro's and trans ams. will they work on our trucks or no. they are not in a solid case like ls1 fans but i was thinking that if you can get the top and bottom brackets bolted in somehow, they would do fine. or do you think it would be too much of a pain to get them to stay put? any takers on this or should i keep straight and narrow on the ls1 fans only?

i seen your post about the fan auction and that is what got me thinking as to whether TPI fans would work. i do believe i will stick with the LS1 fans. Basically i dont' feel like fabbing up stuff and have a crap looking fan job in my truck plus at least i know people are/have done the ls1 conversion and it works. thanks tho

When you guys put on LS1 fans, what do you use for a sensor/thermo. to turn them on?
I have seen soem Q's about using the pcm to do it, but some complications on the trucks.
I am possibly puttign some on mine in the future, so I can get a decent intake setup for my blower.

Procharged, well not that this helps cause i haven't done it yet, but i looked through jegs or summit, can't remember which one and ordered an electric fan wiring kit and relay. i read some old post and got the info from there. in the kit it has a sensor/thermo jobber that hooks on to the upper radiator hose. like i said, i dont' have the fans yet to see if that works or not but hey, it came with the kit. ok, i found the kit, i got it from summit and here is the part numbers. perma cool 19001 and perma cool 19002. one is the wiring kit and 2 is the 30 amp relay. now i might have gotten the wrong stuff but i am sure i read where this will work with the LS1 fans. can someone say yea or nay on that please. hope this helps

I got the Flex-a-lite VSC from Jegs that can handle 25 amps. I called Flex-a-lite and they said the 25 amp VSC might not be enough to for the dual LS1 fans. So they sent me there VSC that can handle 50 amps (I think). I thought that was pretty cool for a company to do that. I did not have to pay for anything.

why do tou guys go through the trouble of finding an ls1 fan and then buying the wiring harness instead of just buying the whole kit from flex-a-lite or perma cool. Is it cheaper or better or what.

I only spent about $180. That is compared to around $400. So yes, it is cheaper!
