Will melted cats totaly blow out the tail pipe?

Default Will melted cats totaly blow out the tail pipe?

If my cats melted from running REALLY rich, would they break apart and blow out, or would they just melt into a ball?

Stock cats, @10:1 A/F.

where would they cause a blockage, the exhaust only gets bigger from there and the muffler is strait through.

A bad cat cost me the stock engine at my expense + 4 more pistons since I didn't realize it was clogged. I guess if you can afford it...imo you'd be better off to take the headpipes off and hollow out the converter

Ceramic element converters will crack apart, disintegrate, and blow right on out. You will have plenty of rattling while this is taking place. The pieces that get stuck and clog get so hot from the fast hot exhaust around them that they burn up to the point they do pass through the system.

Is everyone under the impression I want to run rich to blow out my cats? I asked because I was running a nitrous tune with a very high PE and low timing for a couple days. Since setting the tune back the exhaust note seems to have changed. Not alot, just slightly.
