Is the weird idle a PCM idle relearn? This happened to me from time to time when I had a bad battery and a bad ground connection. What was happening to me was that any time the truck was shut off the PCM would lose power and lose all learned data causing an idle relearn at every start. Since the truck ran on the alternator on the way home the PCM relearned idle enough to idle smoothly until it sat and I restarted it.

Just a thought.

I get that a lot also but I always tried blaming the linkage change from the stock tb to the bbk.
I guess its not that!

how would i ago about cleaning the IAC?
I think the best way is to remove the TB and clean it as you can remove the IAC and TPS better that way. But you should be able to remove the intake and IAC and spray some cleaner in the idle air path to clean it out.
