Default wideband 02 conversion

Is there any way to replace the stock 02 sensors with wideband and use the stock wiring? Im interested in running a wideband for tuning do I need to place the sensor in the stock location or just make a third bung for it? What all is involved in making a wideband work with the stock pcm/vcm and also making it work with HP tuners?

Is one brand better than another? recommendations?

No to your first questiuon. FJO makes the best setup for an in vehicle wideband. But its not terribly cheap. The kit comes with a weld on sensor bung that you put in your y-pipe. Dont know if you can make an add-on wideband talk with the PCM either. Innovate makes a digital handheld wideband O2 setup and it runs liek 350 bucks.

As 99Silver answered no you cannot use wideband and stock wiring. I researched this awhile back and did find that PLX had equipment that would enable you to use wideband sensor in place of stock 02. Believe they made a converter that then could be used to drive the signal to the PCM.
