Fast 48,what cam are you running? The only place mine needs tunning is at idle, and I think I,ve about solved that tunning the throttlebody. If I get it running good enough to make Texas I'll get Allen ( the class sponsor) to look at it. But it runs good with hypp tuning....bumped a little.
A flat #'s all ya need to have fun all day.Look forward to seeing you again. Jim

Try using the cables from your ATAP cable but the box from EDIT.

If I remember right that Dell has 1 serial port. Do you have a modem installed on it? If you do, that would be your Com2, so Com1 should be your serial port.

I would give the cables from the ATAP cable. If it works after that, try the other ones one at a time and then you will be able to figure out which cable is bad.

Do what Flyer said, and use the serial cable from your autotap.

On the same properties of your serial port, under the settings tab, set them like this:

To late...got a new laptop.
BTW, I tried the cable swap lng ago. I'm now facing getting the USB to serial adapter. But at least I got a pretty badass laptop out of it.

HP Pavillion ZE5600
Celeron 2.8GHz
60GB Hard drive
512 MG memory
54g Intergrated wireless LAN (does that mean I can get my DSL wireless with the right router?)
DVD/CD-RW
Windows XP

Will play with it on the truck tomorrow. I'll be selling the other one. BTW, i have this one on dielup right now.Not to shabby.

I've only used LS1 edit on XP. Well, thats not quite true, but I started using edit on XP. Works fine.

If you already have DSL, you'll really like the wireless connection with the new laptop.

I drive around with a USB wireless adapter sitting on my dash. Its so easy to find open wireless networks. I get a better signal with the USB adapter than the PC card version. When I need to check my email or something, I just veer off towards the nearest neighborhood or apartment complex. Then just find an open wireless connection. FWIW - I've found that almost every car dealership has a wireless AP setup and running. Some are locked and others are wide open.

Hahaha...I use my neighbors wireless connection sometimes. It's a little faster than mine.

BT .. I can't get mine to update fast enoguh. By the time it's found a signal I could have already gone passed the hot spot and to the next one.

You have to stop to get a good signal. J/K.

Take a look at this bad boy: Network Stumbler

It really comes in handy for anyone troubleshooting a wireless connection (or looking for good signals). It works best in Win XP. On older OSs, it only supports a small list of network cards.

I have a USB adapter cable, and I had to buy a Keyspan cable to get anythign to work.
Worth a try maybe hooking up a USB setup, since your serial connection isn't working.
Two other cables would not let it connect.
