2001 regcab silverado 4.8
whipplecharger, 4.10s/posi, headers, intake, exaust, hpp3, maf sensor, 160stat, e-fans, traction bars. lowered 2/4 with 18s
VS.
stock lightning
this race would be on the street, 1/4 mile.
tell a description of how the race would go
thanks

Two factors will make or break the Chevy - tuning and temperature. If its really cold outside and properly tuned, I'd give it to the Chevy. The Ls intercooler wouldn't be as big a factor in cold weather.

id say that the lightning may get the truck in the 60' and then it will be all chevy after that

Biggest factor in any street race is the driver.
I give it to whomever is the better driver.

If you got the 5 speed, I think you can take him. I ran a 4.8 with 4.10 and MTI tuning b/f I got my 4.10 and it was a close race. I was in front, but it was nothing to brag about. I have a SWB reg cab with 5.3 and a good amount of mods. With your extra mods, I think you have a good chance at beating him. Assuming its a 5 speed, and you can launch, you got the hole shot, and should be able to hold him off through the 1/4. Good Luck

well i dont got the 5speed, i think a stick fullsize truck is just horrible, but thats my opinion. anyway, i think a 4.8 auto with a stall converter and shiftkit is better and more consistant anyway(in the 1/4). but we could argue about that all day. i will have the whipple soon so hopefully ill have my shot at an L. i know those things lose traction bad on the street. OOsilverado said it best about the 60' because the L still has alot more torque than i would. but my weight and hp would kick in after that and i think i'd take it no prob

Consider getting an intercooled charger. You'll be much happier if you do. From experience, it sucked in Texas with the whipple. Ask Parish8 about his. His seems to be running great in the 30* weather. Not so in the summer.
