Default Who needs two fans?

OK, as far as I have seen everyone here is running the 2 electric fans, or just the stock ones. But my friend was givven two electric fans for his 03 SCSB 5.3. An it turns out that he can only fit one fan on the radiator, I guess they are about 16-17" fans. But anyways, he decided to just run the one fan. An he has been running it like that for the last month now. An his tempature guage is still reading the same as stock or lower. So do you think it is ok to keep that same setup, an just run the one fan. Or will it mess up something else?

If it's running that cool with one fan why worry. I would use the hottest day in stop and go traffic with the A/C turned ON full as the litmus test tho. You could pull the fan blade off and turn it over or reverse the polarity on the fan motor to change it into a pusher type and mount is in front of the condenser. That's what I did on my 99 Siverado on which I use a pusher AND a puller fan. I also installed a 160 F stat and on 2 oil coolers so my water temp RARELY gets over 185 F even on summer days in traffic with the A/C turned ON. Try to beat that.

Sounds like you had a good setup. An yea, me friend thought about installing the other fan as a puller, but wasnt sure if it would fit or work right. But I guess will just see what happens. Thanks
