Default Who likes Rotella?

Used Rotella 15-40w for my cam break in, about to do another oil change, should I just keep running the stuff?

It's cheap and has zinc and detergents, although it seems a little thick compared to the 10-30w valvoline I ran before the cam.

I did a search on here for rotella, and all the threads barely talked about it, so don't bash me haha

I might use something a little thinner seeing as how the weather is getting a lot colder

Many builds ive ran 15w40 rotella, they pulled the zinc out years ago
My crewcab ran 10w30 rotella
My 427 has Vr1 20w50

15w40 is thick in winter, if your area gets cold id swap to thinner if you plan to drive it in cold weather

I love it, but I agree with Atomic on the colder weather.

The rotella has zinc and the additives we like because its a diesel motor oil with less sensitive emissions equipment. The lighter weight oils is likely not a diesel oil in the same sense... not sure what your best bet is on a 10-30 or 5-30.

Thats what I run in my 370 too... but I also like to drive it in colder weather as long as the roads are clean. decisions decisions. I should add a block heater
