Hey does anyone know if the whipple supercharger intercooler will work with the 5.3L supercharger kit?

I know that the 8.1 Whipple kit has a intercooler option but I dont see why it wouldnt fit on the 5.3L. If not then maybe it could be modified to fit.

Has anyone done this or does anyone have info on this topic?

the way the blower outlet is on the 5.3 would make it hard to just modify, it points toward the intake and is only a few inches long, not enuff room to make any turns or anthing like that, in order to fabricate something the first thing you would have to do is relocate the blower so there would be room for some ductng. that right there seems like a prety big project and has kept me from looking into it any further. it sure would be nice if they just made an intercooled set up, they are going to have to if they want to keep up since everyone else has an intercooler option.

the ati is intercooled, i recently saw a pic of an eaton set up like the lighting that is intercooled but it's not for sale yet, seems like banks is supose to have a turbo set up coming soon and i am sure it will be intercooled. if you dont have the whipple yet i would wait to see what these other guys come up with.

 

Just came from SEMA. Magnacharger has a new top-mounted SC (replaces intake manifold) similar to the Ligenfelter Corvette set-up. The kit will fit under our stock hoods and is liquid intercooled. The set-up at SEMA was all chrome and they had a GMC truck in the front with the SC installed.

I was a little ticked. Not 3 months ago when I was looking for a SC, I called Magnacharger to specifically ask about a top-mounted SC like Ligenfelter had used on a corvette. The tech or sales guy said nothing was planned. Now 3 months later and a few $$$ for a whipple, I go to SEMA and I see exactly what I was asking about. I expressed my feelings to one of the Magnacharger guys and he replies,"oh, the whipple must be doing all-right for you..." Oh, well...
