Whipple Questions
#1
This is probably going to be a long post so I apologize before I even start. Well I called SUPERCHARGERSONLINE.COM today to order a whipple charger for my 04 silverado(5.3). I called because their web site shows the whipple for 99-03 models, figuring that their web master just hasn't updated the site yet. Not the case their techs said the 04 kits are different and aren't out yet.(different bracket and electronics) Is this true? Anyone here running a whipple on an 04? Then I called Whipple direct, the tech there said about the same thing regarding the electronics. He did say I could buy it now with out an instructions booklet and the tech dept could help out with 03 instuctions. Then I called Allen @ Nelson Performance he said I should just order the 03 kit and get the 43lb injectors and ditch the whipple electronics. As far as he knows nothing has changed from 03 to 04, just that whipple can't get the electronics right. Which from what I'v read here seems to be the best thing to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jason

I would have considered the Whipple a little more if I had it to do over again. Seems to make better power. In the twin screw vs. modified roots comparison, the twin screw makes more power, more efficiently. The only thing that kept me away was the lack of an intercooler, but perhaps better efficiency would have made up for it. The Radix has not entirely lived up to its claims, I've only seen a 90 RWHP gain, versus the 120 RWHP as touted. This, even with custom tuning.
