Just wondering where I can purchase a 160 t-stat. I know hypertech, but is there another brand that is cheaper and just as good or better? Are Stant stats any good?

I've got a brand new one. Had an extra between my Whipple and Hypertech. Offer me a price. jdpanero@yahoo.com

On the thermostats they control the temperature it opens with a shim. Many people have used a BB to reduce their temperatures. BB Thread.

As I understand it, they just drop a specific weight of melted solder in the thermostat as a shim. Because it is in the liquid form there is really no way to guarantee the "shim" is the right size. A friend of mine actually machined his own shims and experimented with different sizes until he got exactly what he wanted.

Save your money and modify a stock thermostat.

I've had my stock mod'd one though a Texas summer and works fine. Even more temp reductions are to be found with a 3/4 ton radiator. I got a "BB" for free and fixed it all up.

Good question-I am needing one also. The Whipple came with a "motorad" brand. So I just did a quick search and found a website www.motoradusa.com it is pretty lame site but at least they have a phone number where you can find out where to buy, etc.

I see t-stats for 2002, but not 2003. They are probably the same exact thing, but does anyone know for sure if the 2002 will work on a 2003?
