A couple of the sponsors over to the right sell such a beast. Thunder Racing comes to mind right off the top of my head.

You just need a new crank pulley bolt, timing cover gasket, front crank seal, and 2 water pump gaskets. Of course, you need a cam and probably springs too.

that's what i was thinking. we've done several on my friend's truck and havn't changed the gaskets yet. and why would you need a new crank bolt just from a cam swap?

rtv crushes and crank bolt is torque-to-yield (it stretches when torqued)... that or GM wants to make even more $ off of you by telling you this
I changed all of my gaskets and changed the crank bolt though.

Watch who you are calling a dork. When I pulled off my water pump, the little reuseable metal gaskets with the rubber edges had decayed and stuck to the block. They were in no way reuseable. Its your choice. If you want to risk a coolant and oil leak, dont buy any. Pump gaskets are less than $3 and the bolt is about the same. I'll be honest, I didn't buy a new crank oil seal.
