Default Where can I buy a VortecMAX LQ9??

Like the title says I'm wondering where I can look for low mileage VortecMAX engines to buy. I want the same one they put in the Sierra Denali's and Silverado SS's which I think is the LQ9. Looking to drop this in an '04 1/2 ton Sierra Z71. Will it bolt up to the trans. in my Sierra? Do I need to modify my trans. for the engine in anyway? But most importantly where can I buy one of these engines!

Thanks!

No mods may be needed to bolt the engine to the trans, but plan now for a trans upgrade as it's life may be shortened with the increased power.

Got my LQ4 on car-part.com.

When I was browsing, I noticed several LQ9s as well.

Good luck with the search.

Do I need the VIN letter N then for the VortecMAX? I see alot of Escalades but only on Sierra Denali with the 6.0L....

I have only heard great things from Cleveland Pick-a-Part and it's yours if you don't mind the high mileage. Good luck on the search!!

Hey thanks for the link. I thought the 6.0L's said Vortec 6000 or VortecMAX right on the plastic engine cover though? But beside that I'm looking for one with far less miles than 96K... thanks anyways!
