Default when does the 4.8 5spd crap out?

approx wut HP/TRQ rating does the manual transmission blow up?

keep thinkin about running a custom turbo setup on my truck, i figure if STS can run 5psi non-IC i coudl run 7 psi Intercooled. than upgrade the fuel pump/injectors and run 9-10psi intercooled. im sure the bottom end can take it, dont think i'd have valve float problems if im still running the stock cam.

any one know?

All I've heard is that it can't take much...don't know the numbers. It's only available with the 4.8,right?

I blew up two 5 speeds with the stock 4.8. If you put a turbo on your truck, kiss the tranny ( and rear) goodbye. However, it was rather easy to convert to a 700r4 ( built VERY strong of course) and the truck is much faster with the automatic. On street tires with the 5-speed, I couldn't get out of the 15's. With the 700r4 on street tires I run consistent 13.30's.
