Default wheel weight

you know i had no idea that the stock steel rims were that friggin heavy. I just got a set of alum. suburban rims (for free), and after i put them on, it seems like the truck is a little faster, better handling, better riding. has anyone else gone from the stock steel rims to alum. rims and felt the same way, or is it all in my head?
