Default whats the deal with my startup idle?

my truck used to start up real smooth and where it revved to when it started was what it idled at, lately when i start it up it revs to probably 15-1700 real quick and then goes back to idle. is something going out on the truck. kinda like it a little bit just because the exhaust is loud and it sounds like a beast waking up. just wanted to know if some sensors or something was probably going out or if this is ok. thanks

mine does the exact same thing i've noticed it since i got my exhaust. probably did it before too though, i just didn't notice. I've had my truck on diagnostic machines, they say my truck is running just perfect. so just keep pimpin' with the beast sound.

I belive that the 99-00 dont rev. And the 01-02 rev when you start them.

You may be right. Mine never used to rev up either until I got my new 02' custom tuned PCM.
I just thought it was the tuning doing it, but maybe its something with the different year PCM's.

Not real sure then. I woudlnt think that any thing would be going out or nothing like that. Maby your truck just wants to go lol. Maby some one else will chime in and give you a little more information. Personaly if it was me I wouldnt worrie about it. I think it could be normal. Just my .02.

Mine does the same thing ever since I installed the 02 PCM, never did it with the 99 PCM though. Wierd how yours just started doing that with the factory 00 PCM...wish I had an answer for ya.
