Default What's the biggest cam I could put in my 4.8.....

with a Yank TT3000..............??

what about with the TT3200?

I'm just gauging what I'm going to do, I might sell the 01 LS6 cam & springs I have sitting in my room, and get a stall first, then go for a much bigger cam. I'm thinking something around maybe a 220/224, can I go that big? or bigger?

edit: I would prefer comp cams, or anything more biased towards the exhaust.

not sure how big you can go... im looking for one too..

look here >>> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

they also tell you valve spring sizes and part number, retainers and pushrods...

that one is 222/224 i think

right now the biggest anybody has put in the 4.8L is the 224/224 on a 112LSA
it's pretty violent, unless you have extensive tuning, and a big stall--3200 or higher..
I am still trying to get the bugs worked out on my 224/224-112..
not very street friendly, but it can be tolerated

I had a 224/224 114lsa in my truck. It would start up like a charm everytime. It idled at 950 rpms and would run all day on the street with out missing a beat. Also i had a 3000 stall convertor in it.

I have a 219/228-112 in mine, and I drive it everyday with a mail order tune. Starts up and idles just fine. I have the TCI 3000 verter too!

01Thunder,

Would you mind posting your dyno w/ the TR224? I wanted to see that curve again.

Same cam here. Probably one of the most lopey cams in a 4.8.
