building my list of parts and am at the cross roads of the timing chain; trying to find out which is better- the LS2 chain or I stumbled upon this https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...chain-12646386...........

That's the newest heavy duty GM chain. It's the replacement for the LS2 chain.
