Default What year did Active Fuel Managment start on the 5.3

I am pondering getting a RC 5.3 pickup with plans for heads cam and possible forced induction in the future. I am assuming that buying a new one would not be a good idea because of the active fuel managment. I would like to get the newest one available without this tree hugging technology so what year did it start?

Thanks

I dont see what difference the AFM makes, with all your planned changes your gonna need a custom tune and the AFM is easily disabled while tuning.

Yea with the plans you have you are deff going to need tuning....so it really doesnt matter you can just tune it out.
