Default 6.0 swap oil change indicator

Hey guys, I just recently did a 4.3 to 6.0 swap in my truck. I was wondering if anybody knew if the oil change indicator light would still work. It's going on about 3000 or more miles since the swap and no light yet. Just curious if the 2000 6.0L had that option like my 4.3L. Thanks.

my 5.3 will go about 7500 if i let it. possibly more. i change it at 5000 and it usually says i have 40-50 percent oil life left.

The 6.0's do have the option. The indicator is triggered by the load the engine is under, idle time, etc to calculate when an oil change is required. Not sure if you need to change anything for the different engines.
Check your owners manual to see the procedure on resetting the counter (mine is reset by depressing the gas pedal 5 times with the key in the run position engine not running). If the indicator flashes at you a few times after the reset procedure then all should be operating normally.

Not sure about the 6.0 swap but I think it might be the 4.3L thing, my old truck was a 2004 Silverado with the 4.3L and the oil indicator light would come on about every 3000 miles. With the truck I have now that has a 5.3L the indicator light is about every 5000 miles.
