I would think a good cam in a 6.0, 10-12# of boost and some N2O would get me there.
I think the 5.3 will get you there with a great tune and a great 60'.

I dropped 2G today to get my project rollin. Im now intrigued to see if this 5.3 is capable of a 12.X. I need to get an eaton, figure out what Im going to do about tuning, and pick up a wet kit
Is it possible to get a cam that will work well in my 5.3 and then work well in the 6.0?? Im leaning towards the ever popular 212/218.

the 6.0 itself should put you very close. there are more than a few silverado SS's at the same weight getting there without that many mods. a 6.0 with a mild cam, headers and tuned in well with what you already have should be easily there.

James B., have you gotten yours in the 13's yet?

I have the laptop, but Im apprehensive about messing with stuff at this point. When the truck gets out today, Im going to see when I can drop it off to have the new bypass welded on and smaller pulley. At that point I may try to find someone local that is very good and pay for a new tune.

I know I've said this before, but take some of that cash you've got, and buy a wideband. Screw the dynotunes. You'll be much happier tuning it yourself, and you'll have a way better tune. It's not hard at all. With all the expertise on here it will be a piece of cake.

At this point that sounds like a good idea. A tune would cost me $400 or so. You recommended the FJO wideband if I recall which was about $800-$900 correct?? Is that the one I need or is there another?? What would you recommend and how hard is it to setup?? Could I do it myself??

The FJO is definately the most expensive, but if I had to do it over, I'd buy it again. It's so easy to use, and the logging feature looks better than the other units logging that I've seen.

All it takes to hook up is a 12 volt key on supply. I got that from the rear 02 that I took out. Then you mount the controller, and the rest is just fishing wires. Data to the cab, and rpm pickup wire from the engine bay to the controller box.

Well, I was doing 14.2's on 6psi with no water injection before the heads and rockers. I would say it's well into the 13's, but I've got no slip to proove it. So basically, no - it only does 14.2s officially! Wanna race? lol
