hello everyone, i just finished the cam install in my 08 silvo, it was my first one and insanely easy. Now im on to the hard part, the springs...... what spring compressor tools did you guys use??? Any and all tips would be appreciated.

 

Crane tool is supposed to be the best, it let you work on 2 springs at the same time, so work is cut in half, but it's too expensive for a tool you will only use once or twice IMO: $120+

works like a charm, really easy to use.

Don't use a crowbar style spring compressor by any means, believe me, you'll thank me later.

 

I've used a bunch of different tools, and the Crane tool is the best by far. It does 2 springs at a time and compresses the springs straigh down, not on an angle like some of the pry tools. Crane has gone out of business, so I'm not sure where you'll find the tool available...you can check our sponsors or Vinci High Performance, they may have it. It's a bit more expensive than the other tools out there, but worth every penny.
