They are not the headers that you get, these are what they look like

Looks like the 2.5 collectors that are on mine from the pic, but SW will weld any size collector that you want, so I could be wrong.
I'll try to see if I can find the article when I get a chance...I think that I had googled "exhaust header collectors" when I came across it.
FWIW, with your blown setup, a 3" y into a 4" pipe sounds like a good system to me...but that's with my limited knowledge of blown applications. I'm just going by what I've learned and deducted since being a member here
A 3" y into a 3" system just doesnt seem to make much sense IMO...that's like having two really long 3" collectors the way I see it...

3" Y pipe into a 3.5" catback is what I will be running and I'll be boosted before to long. Pacesetter headers also... 3" exhaust is plenty for a blown 6.0L... 2.5" mandral bent x pipe true duals on my '01 worked fine way over 400hp, sounded awesome too!!

Someone linked to an article with a bunch of good exhaust info not too long ago, maybe a couple of months. It's not the same article that I'm thinking of, but it was very informative.

I recently added cats back. It really quieted down my exhaust, even with an open Y pipe. Also it's so nice opening my door to no plume of gas fumes. On the downside, I lost the "muscle car" sound. With headers into ORY and cutout it sounded awesome, but loud!

John...I have Stainless Works headers on my truck and can tell your for sure that the headers in the first pic are how they come: 2.5" collector and 2.5" y-pipe. The 2nd link you posted was a set of modified headers. As far as the collector not making power I do not know for sure but GMHTP used a set on their project truck (http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...all/index.html) and eventually put a MagnaCharger on it with good results. Hope this helps some...
