Default What plugs/wires?

I wanted to do a basic tune up for my truck and wanted to know what plugs and wires I should get.

I would like to get some Iridium plugs and some good wires but I don't know which ones. Autozone has Denso Iridium and Bosch platinums. Do you think the Iridiums are overkill. The Denso are 12 bucks. I only paid 6 for my NGKs on the TA. Autozone also has Bosch wires. Do you think these are good? THanks

Factory Delco wires are fine along with Tr-55 plugs if you are stock or any v-power plug from NGK basicly. Its a waste to spend 6-8 bucks a plug.

They are the usual replacment plug for N/A cars/trucks. The stockers can be NGK or AC Delco.

So I should be good with the Bosch or should I order the NGK? I want to change them out tomorrow and can just go to Auto Zone. Thanks.

Personally, I'd stay away from Bosh, never had good experiences myself and have heard many horror stories about them. The factory equipment is fine, and your plugs should be platinum from the factory. I've always used NGK's or Delco's in the past, but when I saw that Denso was making irridium plugs that fit our trucks, I was right on it. (I was a Toyota Master tech for 10 years...saw alot of densos and a bunch of NGK's also....these denso plugs held up through some pretty nasty sh**t and kept on working.)

Damn things are expensive though 11 to 12 bucks a plug, but they're supposed to be good to 100k...we'll see. They're supposed to lessen carbon deposits due to the concentrated spark. Gapped mine at .055

Went with MSD 8.5 wires. I like them...a little longer than the stockers, but not enough to cause any problems. They're holding up with the heat from the headers fine, and the red wires look cool too.

After some research, I decided on the NGK TR6's (blown with 42lb injectors), and am ordering some Taylor TV50 wires.

I am looking to replace the plugs and wires in my truck. I was wondering what brand spark plug I should use? I am pretty much set on the MSD wires. Thanks for your help.

I'm running TR55's.... but didn't notice much of a difference over stock.

For wires - I ran Taylor TV50's, but I had bad luck with their quality. I kept having wires break at the plug-end of business. The metal clip would hold onto the spark plug too tightly, and rip off the end of the wire.

I had about three let go on my first set, which was replaced under waranty. Then I had about 6 more let go during two cam swaps. I threw the rest in the trash.

I'm now running MSD 8.5's, and don't have any issues like that.

The Taylors fit PERFECTLY, but were very poor quality.

The MSD's needed two wire-ties to keep the wires out of "danger" in the engine bay, but have superior quality.

FWIW, my old Avalanche had 400ohm wires, stock. My SS had 800ohm wires, stock. MSD's and Taylors measure in around 20-30 ohms.

You should notice better throttle responce down low, and less pedal to get rolling from a stop.
