93 octane tuning with Wester ECM. So thats what I will use.

goshawk, there's not really much you can do about if it is piston slap. You can try and get the dealer to do something about it, but that would be a tough battle to fight. I think the only fix for it is to put new pistons in.

it only does it for a few secs then it goes away. i'm not too worried with it. my sisters tahoe does it worse than mine. and i have heard other 5.3's doing it.
